3 Redskins named to All Kanawha Valley
The post season awards and recognition began today as the 2018 Gazette-Mail All Kanawha County team was announced.
Hurricane saw 3 players named to the team. Seniors J.T. Cooper and Tim McCutchen as well as Junior Christian Hill were selected.
Cooper lead the Redskins with a career high 127 tackles, including team highs with 10 tackles for loss and 2 interceptions.
McCutchen made 7 of 8 field goals and 26 of 28 PATs while also posting a 40.0 punting average.
Hill had 277 carries and amazed 1525 yards rushing finishing 2nd in the MSAC. He also led the Redskins with 10 touchdowns scored.
Congratulations J.T, Tim, and Christian.
Notes: Deserving Redskins that were not selected included Dalton Geter who was certainly one of the best O-lineman in the Valley.
Additionally Both Cameron Kimble (110) and Walker James (105) had over 100 tackles on the season. In many recent seasons Hurricane's leading tackler tallied less than 100.
Additionally a shout out to Trevor Lowe, who transferred to Nitro prior to his Freshman season and ended up as the Wildcats starting QB, and was named the Kanawha Valley's Rookie of the Year!
