Hurricane's All State Linebacker Lucas Cooper Signs With Ohio Wesleyan
Lucas Cooper, 2 time Hurricane Redskin defensive player of the Year, signed a letter of intent on April 5th to play collegially at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Cooper will play for the OWU Battling Bishops under the guidance of Head Coach Tom Watts. OWU, located in Delaware, Ohio 30 minutes north of Columbus, plays in the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Battling Bishops have had alternating 6-4 and 5-5 seasons the last 4 years, after going 9-1 in Coach Watts' initial season at the helm. Watts is excited to add "a great student at football player to the OWU family."
Cooper, who served as the Redskins' Captain, led the team in tackles the last two seasons (106 in 2016), and was selected to the AAA First Team All State Team as well as the USA Today All West Virginia Team. He will also represent Hurricane on the South roster of the WCHS/FOX 11 North-South Football Classic

Cooper is the 5th Redskin to sign to play at the next level. Nick Williams and Matt Lindmark will play at West Virginia State, Joey Lamb at Alderson Broaddus, and Isaiah Thomas at West Virginia Wesleyan.
